Howdy all!  Friday!  Yay!

My homework text today was Jonah 2:3-6.  It’s a prayer that he prays.  The last verse stood out the most to me.

“The earth with its bars was around me forever, but You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God.”

The thing that amazed me most about this verse was WHERE Jonah was when he was praying it.  He was STILL in the belly of the fish!  But he was grateful to God, not for restoring his life – because I’m sure he still thought he was going to die – but for restoring his FOCUS.  He realized that that was more important.  It reminded me that, despite our circumstances, we can still have joy and peace and hope because He will take care of us, no matter what.
