Again – #fiveminutefriday

It’s #FiveMinuteFriday!

Every Friday people join a kind of writing flash mob over here.  We write for five minutes flat. All on the same prompt that Lisa Jo posts at 1 minute past midnight EST every Friday. And we connect on Twitter with the hashtag #FiveMinuteFriday

No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.

Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

Are you ready

Another perfect word to go with my One Word for 2013.

AGAIN . . .

Is it sad that the first thing that popped into my head were the lyrics from “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake?  I’m going to blame that on the fact that it was playing on the radio as I drove to work yesterday.

This year is all about renewal for me.  Really becoming the person God made me to be.  The person I have always wanted to be.  Not many people get the chance to start over.

To begin again.

Even though there was pain and devastation leading up to this opportunity, I don’t want to waste the chance I have been given.

I don’t want to waste time reliving my past regrets over and over again.  Or being held captive by old mindsets and thought patterns that keep me bound by low self-esteem and negative thinking.

I don’t want to fear starting over again.

I want to embrace it.  I want to discover my dreams and my goals and my purpose again.

I want to search for knowledge and strive to reach my full potential.  I want to use the talents and abilities I have been given.

So, I have decided to apply to grad school and start working toward my Master’s in Christian Studies.

I’m ready to finally use my brain again.

I just hope it still works.

Wanna play? Here’s how:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.

  1. Aww- Cast fear aside and embrace “again”. There is something so beautiful about the word… again. God’s mercies are new everyday and so is opportunity! I pray God guides you on every step of this journey and showers you with blessings of favor! Be encouraged!

  2. That’s awesome. And that’s the perfect song/anthem. I love that we are blessed with the chance to do things again. Let’s just hope we don’t see 80s big hair again. 🙂 Great post! And many blessings ahead as you head off to grad school.
