Five Minute Friday: Comfort – The 1000 Gifts Edition

It’s #FiveMinuteFriday!

Five minutes of writing on a word prompt give by Lisa Jo Baker over here.

Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

Are you ready?

Haven’t posted my 1000 Gifts list online in a while, so I figured this would be a good time to give thanks for things that bring me comfort. 🙂  Creating this list on the fly as things pop into my head.  Should be very eclectic.  😉

121.  Mac and cheese

122.  Warm fuzzy blankets

123.  Big hugs

124.  Coming home after a long day at work

125.  Quiet time

126.  The unwavering love and loyalty of my dogs

127.  Bacon

128.  Steady work and income

129.  Cream with a splash of coffee

130.  Knowing that God is for me

131.  Snuggling with a puppy – even if it’s not really a “puppy” anymore

132.  Mountains

133.  The smell of hay and horses

134.  Holding hands

135.  Being seen for who I really am

136.  Cheese

137.  Warm, crusty bread

138.  Good friends I can always count on

139.  Warm sheets fresh out of the dryer

140.  Cool sheets on a hot summer night

141.  A good book I can get lost in

142.  Soothing music

143.  Music I can rock out to

144.  Seeing my kid make good decisions

145.  God’s promises

And there are  many, many more, but time is up!  🙂

Wanna play? Here’s how:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.

  1. Dear Nancy
Your two four legged children are too cute. I can just imagine how exited they are when you return from work in the evenings. Yes, we have so much blessings that brings us comfort. And the best of all, is our Lord Jesus who not only comforts us, but is the greatest Comforter ever!
    Much love to you

  2. I’m a bit more cream with a splash of coffee but yes, so many good gifts and comforts listed here. It’s interesting how the majestic like mountains and the simple like a hug or a good book are all so precious when we’re thankful.
